Biscuits gun for team-record losing streak

You may witness history tonight at Riverwalk Stadium when the Biscuits face the Huntsville Stars. The Biscuits tote a six-game losing streak into tonight's tilt, which ties them for the longest in team history.

6-GAME LOSING STREAKS
July 10-18, 2004
Aug. 28-Sept. 1, 2004
June 11-17, 2007

Otherwise, so far, a quiet day here, though it's not in New York where the Mets have fired farm director Tony Bernazard for his antics, including challenging his Double-A team to a fight. Double-A Binghamton is managed by former Biscuits coach Mako Oliveras. Enjoy the back page of Thursday's Daily News below.

Time for some name confusion, too. Huntsville has an outfielder named Drew T. Anderson, while Montgomery's now-former infielder is Drew M. Anderson. No known relation.

The Rays demoted former Biscuits stopper Dale Thayer back to Durham today.
