Eldridge out again; tarp piled off to side

Outfielder Rashad Eldridge is out of the lineup for a third straight game and is having an issue with an oblique. A similar ailment, though perhaps more severe, cost him three weeks last year.

The Biscuits host the Barons for the finale of a four-game sweep series tonight. Good showers earlier today in Montgomery, but the tarp is off the field. It's piled up on the warning track in front of the first-base dugout at the moment.

Umpire Booter West will sit out a third straight game, too.

Found these interesting today: Steve McNair considered giving baseball a professional try (Seattle Times) and the Brewers GM says Huntsville is a "very apathetic baseball town" that may not deserve their affiliation (Huntsville Times).

Speaking of stars, the Southern League sent out a revision of its All-Star roster today and added eight players after others had to back out. Three are re-additions because Barons Tyler Flowers and Dayan Viciedo and BayBear Jarrod Parker are doubling-up with the Futures Game. Biscuits outfielder Desmond Jennings won't double-up, the Biscuits said Friday, and is still not on the SL roster.

Finally, WSFA continues showing its top-flight ability for publicizing when it's going to Webcast a Biscuits game. They're showing one tonight, as best I can tell from them setting up their equipment.

If you're curious, compare the top average in Montgomery's lineup today to the worst in Birmingham's ...
