Triunfel rehabbing in Arizona; AL trophy shows up

The tarp is out, a shower has started (and could continue for a while), and there's no outside batting practice before today's second game of the Biscuits-Jaxx series.

If you remember, way back in April, the Jaxx were here to start the season and lost shortstop Carlos Triunfel in the second game of the year. Triunfel, one of Seattle's top prospects, broke his left leg sliding into second base and was potentially lost for the season.

Jaxx manager Phil Plantier said Triunfel is rehabbing at the Mariners' complex in Arizona. It appears unlikely Triunfel, who was impressive in spring training, will see meaningful time this year.

"That injury was unfortunate with the beginning of the season he had," Plantier said. "I heard he's recovering well and rehabbing."

Tampa Bay's American League championship trophy, scheduled for display at Friday's game, has already arrived. I noted some slight damage at the base just to the left of the nameplate. The Biscuits say it arrived with the blemish.
