Cortez takes Sunday seat; Jennings tries to stay hot

Infielder Fernando Cortez is out of the lineup today, a day after having a 19-game hitting streak snapped, while center fielder Desmond Jennings tries to polish off a tidy five-game series against the Diamond Jaxx.

Jennings is 9-for-13 with seven walks, eight runs scored and four extra-base hits in 20 plate appearances. Jenningshas three steals in the series, not including one nice baserunning play Saturday. He went from first to third on a Rashad Eldridge RBI single and, when Eldridge was caught in a rundown between first and second, perfectly timed a sprint home.

Today, however, Jennings will start in right for the fifth time this year.
