Biscuits outfielder Desmond Jennings has been picked to play in the All-Star Futures Game. The game is played at the site of the major-league All-Star Game -- St. Louis this year -- and features many of minors' top prospects.
Jennings and outfielder K.D. Kang will represent the Rays. Durham manager Charlie Montoyo and former Biscuits coach Mako Oliveros will be on the World team's coaching staff.

Jennings ranks among the Southern League leaders in hitting, stolen bases, extra-base hits and runs scored. Kang is currently with Class A Bowling Green and played at Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City.
Because he'll be in the Futures Game, Jennings will miss out on the Southern League All-Star Game. Jennings is from Birmingham and the game is July 13 in Hoover. The Futures Game is July 12.
