Well, that didn't take long.
Kent Matthes, the Alabama outfielder who is a finalist for college baseball's version of the Heisman, was a fourth-round pick of the Colorado Rockies. His 28 home runs this season set a Tide school record and could bode well for him in the thin air of Denver.
Later in the fourth round, the Rays took Luke Bailey, a catcher at Troup High in LaGrange, Ga., who has signed with Auburn.
