Draft comes down stretch; 2nd state prep player picked

In the office to run down the third day of draft action. They're in the 50th (and final) round as I start running through the previous picks.

The state had two players go in the 31st round, which was the first today, including the second high school player taken.

Mountain Brook High center fielder Judd Golson went to the Yankees with the 945th overall pick. South Alabama had two players go in the 31st round: pitcher Matt Jackson to the Padres (924) and catcher David Doss to the Phillies (947).

In the 33rd round, St. Louis drafted shortstop Devin Goodwin from Delta State. Goodwin graduated from Demopolis High and is the son of Doug Goodwin, the former Demopolis football coach who is now at Russellville.
