Montgomery sending two to All-Star Game

Biscuits pitchers Jeremy Hellickson and Eduardo Morlan have been picked to play in the Southern League All-Star Game, which is July 13 in Hoover.

Two other Montgomery players would have been named, but they're not available. Center fielder Desmond Jennings is playing in the All-Star Futures Game in St. Louis on July 12. First baseman Rhyne Hughes was promoted to Triple-A Durham on June 9.

Hellickson, who missed six weeks with a shoulder injury, is 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA in eight starts. In 39 innings, he's allowed 28 hits, walked nine and struck out 48.

Morlan has a 2.68 ERA, a 3-3 record and four saves in 29 relief appearances. He played in the Futures Game last year.

Jennings is hitting .323 with 51 runs scored and 28 stolen bases. Hughes had a .252 average, 15 home runs and 46 RBIs before his promotion. Hughes is still tied for the Southern League lead in homers.
