Longoria takes lead on Jeter

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria, a former Biscuit, has taken the overall lead in the American League All-Star balloting, shooting past Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter. Longoria has 1,036,071 votes and Jeter has 1,017,560, MLB announced today.

Ballots are available at Riverwalk Stadium, site of tonight's game between the Biscuits and Jacksonville Suns. Rays reliever Chad Bradford is scheduled to make his Biscuits rehab debut with one inning tonight.
