Jeremy Beckham, the older brother of Biscuit-to-be shortstop Tim Beckham, is close to finishing his college degree and is coaching a middle school team in the Atlanta area, Tim said.
Jeremy was Tampa Bay's 17th-round draft pick in 2008 when Tim went to the Rays first overall. Jeremy drew high marks for his personality in his two seasons with the Rays.
"He's going back to school and has 12 or 13 hours left to finish that up," Tim said. "He's coaching a middle school team, too, and wants to get into coaching. He's going to produce a lot of good athletes. Once he finishes school, it's going to be good."
