Rays hog numbers in draft order

The Rays will have 12 of the first 90 picks in the June draft, including six of the first 42. Major League Baseball announced the full draft order today. The draft is June 6-8.

Tampa Bay, due to the exodus of free agents after last season, has three first-round picks and seven sandwich picks.

24th (for losing Crawford to Red Sox)
31st (Soriano to Yankees)
32nd
38th (Soriano to Yankees)
41st (Crawford to Red Sox)
42nd (Balfour to A's)
52nd (Hawpe to Padres)
56th (Benoit to Tigers)
59th (Choate to Marlins)
60th (Qualls to Padres)
75th, second round (Balfour to A's)
89th, second round
119th, third round
150th, fourth round (In rounds 4-50, the Rays have the 29th pick.)
