Thursday's Rays roundup

Bulls 6, Rochester 1
Russ Canzler
singled, tripled, walked and scored twice. He's hitting .523 in his current 11-game hitting streak with 13 runs scored and 10 RBIs. Ray Olmedo singled, doubled and knocked in two runs. Matt Torra tossed seven innings of five-hit, one-run ball. Tim Beckham was 1-for-4 in his debut.

Palm Beach 3, Stone Crabs 1
Jake Jefferies
singled, doubled and scored. Reid Fronk hit an RBI double. Jake Thompson surrendered one hit and one walk over six shutout innings.

Fort Wayne 3, Hot Rods 0
Derek Dietrich
singled and doubled. Robby Price walked twice. Braulio Lara's book-rule quality start netted a 10th loss.

Renegades 5, Lowell 3 (completion of Aug. 10 suspended game)
Jeff Malm
singled, homered and scored three runs. Craige Lyerly doubled, walked, was caught thieving and had two RBIs. Matt Rice was 3-for-4 with a double, run scored and caught stealing. Mickey Jannis tossed 5 2/3 innings and gave up one run.

Renegades 6, Lowell 5 (Game 2)
Craige Lyerly
and Alejandro Segovia had two RBIs each. Chris Winder singled, tripled, HBP'd, threw out a runner at home and scored twice. Juniel Querecuto singled, walked, erred and scored twice.

Bluefield 6, P-Rays 2
Jake Hager
singled, homered and scored twice. Taylor Motter singled and doubled. Deshun Dixon singled twice and was caught stealing. Reinaldo Lopez threw four shutout innings. Drew Vettleson was 0-for-4 and is hitting .125 in August.

GCL Red Sox 7, Rays 3 (Game 1)
Ariel Soriano
doubled, tripled, scored twice and erred twice. Johnny Eierman singled and doubled. Ricky Orta, who had been on Montgomery's disabled list all season, threw one shutout inning.

GCL Rays 2, Red Sox 1 (8, Game 2)
Riccio Torrez
singled in Edward Dorville with the go-ahead run. Dorville singled, doubled and stole. Hector Duarte gave up only a solo home run and a walk in four innings with five strikeouts.

Renegades Game 1- 2B RAYMOND CHURCH went 2 for 3. He Doubled twice and scored once. CHURCH LEADS the team in DOUBLES.
