Pensacola's Ryan LaMarre, who roughed up the Biscuits in the just-ended series, also carried home Southern League player of the week honors.
LaMarre was 6-for-18 with three home runs and eight RBIs in five games at Montgomery. He's hitting .226 with eight homers and 29 RBIs in 87 games this year. (In 20 games vs. the Biscuits, those numbers are .270, three and 11.)
Huntsville's David Goforth was the pitcher of the week after totaling 14 shutout innings. He threw a seven-inning two-hit shutout last Monday at Tennessee. On Saturday, he gave up just two hits over seven innings against Birmingham. Goforth is 3-1 with a 3.18 ERA in four starts for the Stars.
LaMarre is the first weekly winner from the Blue Wahoos this year. Goforth is the second straight from the Stars. Andy Moye was last week's pitcher.
