Riefenhauser perfect 8th in Futures

C.J. Riefenhauser was so efficient I didn't have time to get to the field to capture video of Biscuits gawking at the scoreboard telecast.

Riefenhauser threw six pitches for six strikes and recorded three outs in the eighth inning of Sunday's Futures Game in New York.

"That was fun to watch," Biscuits pitching coach R.C. Lichtenstein said.

Batting practice activity practically ceased during Riefenhauser's performance. The in-cage hitter continued to swing, but all fungo efforts stopped.

Riefenhauser, promoted in late June from the Biscuits to Triple-A Durham, recorded two infield flyouts and one flyball to center field.
