Javier Baez singled home Nate Samson in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Tennessee Smokies to an 11-10 win over the Biscuits on Friday.
Rafael Lopez hit a leadoff single and Samson replaced him as a pinch-runner before Matt Szczur walked. After Arismendy Alcantara's single loaded the bases, Baez singled to center to bring in the winning run.
The Biscuits scored twice in both the eighth and ninth innings to forge a 10-10 tie.
Mayo Acosta hit a two-run single in the eighth inning and finished with three RBIs. Acosta, had a season-high four RBIs at Tennessee on April 21, has nine RBIs in seven games against the Smokies.
In the ninth, Curt Casali and Cameron Seitzer hit back-to-back RBI singles. Casali and Seitzer hit back-to-back home runs in a four-run first inning. Casali, whose homer was a three-run blast, has 16 RBIs in 14 games for Montgomery.
