Cole Figueroa’s bunt single scored Reid Fronk with the go-ahead run in the seventh inning to lead the Biscuits to their first victory, a 4-3 win over the Birmingham Barons on Sunday.
Fronk led off the inning with a double down the right-field line and moved to third on a John Shelby bunt. After Kyeong Kang walked, Figueroa bunted to first and avoided the tag for a single.
Figueroa finished 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and RBI.
Nevin Ashley and Matt Sweeney hit back-to-back home runs to lead off the second for Montgomery. In the fifth, Figueroa and Tim Beckham had consecutive two-out doubles.
