Wes Bankston of the Bridgeport Bluefish, a former Biscuit who was the first to clear the Riverwalk Stadium scoreboard with a home run, won the independent Atlantic League's player of the month award for July.
Bankston hit .340 with 32 RBIs and a .740 slugging percentage in 25 July games. He's currently hitting .298, is second in the league with 18 home runs and fifth with 58 RBIs this season. He's the league leader with a .590 slugging percentage.
