Thursday's Rays roundup

Bulls 5, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 1
Alex Torres
threw seven shutout innings, allowing four hits and three walks. Russ Canzler singled twice, hit a two-run home run and scored twice. Tim Beckham cracked a solo homer and erred. Nevin Ashley hit a two-run single in the second inning.

Bradenton 3, Stone Crabs 1
Alejandro Torres
had two of Charlotte's six hits, including a double. Merrill Kelly recorded a book-rule quality start.

Hot Rods 6, Lansing 2
Cody Rogers
hit a two-run home run, an RBI triple, drew a bases-loaded walk and scored twice. Rogers and Derek Dietrich went back-to-back in the fifth. Steve Hiscock threw three shutout innings. Chris Rearick issued a walk in the ninth -- and now has given up just three hits to the last 59 batters he's faced.

Renegades 6, State College 3
Chris Winder
had three singles, an RBI and a run scored. Brian Bryles hit a two-run double. Craige Lyerly singled, was plunked, had an RBI and scored. Raymond Church and Juniel Querecuto each singled twice and erred.

P-Rays 11, Danville 2
Justin O'Conner
, after a woeful game Wednesday, hit a three-run home run, finished with four RBIs and scored twice. Felix Gonzalez and Drew Vettleson each had four hits with Vettleson adding two RBIs and a steal. Taylor Mottoer singled, walked thrice and scored twice. Shay Crawford threw 4 2/3 shutout innings.

GCL Rays 4, Twins 0 (5 1/2, rain)
Rehabbing Biscuit Joe Cruz tossed a five-inning two-hitter. He walked one and struck out six. Ismel Antunez's two-out RBI single capped a four-run fourth.

HV's Raymond Church had 2 singles, scored once, and had a sac fly RBI.
