Former big leaguer jumps from Crabs to Bulls

Former major leaguer Ramon Ramirez, recently signed by the Rays and sent to high-Class A Charlotte, has been promoted to Triple-A Durham.

Ramirez is a relief pitcher who started the season with the San Francisco Giants, who released him last month. In one appearance for the Stone Crabs, he gave up one run in three innings.

The Bulls cleared space by putting Alex Colome on the disabled list. He has an ailing elbow.

That also clears space for the Stone Crabs to activate starting pitcher Sean Bierman, who was recently promoted from Bowling Green.
