Biscuits shortstop Tim Beckham has been promoted to Triple-A Durham.
The 21-year-old was hitting a career-high .275 in 107 games for the Biscuits with 57 RBIs and 82 runs scored. He also had set a career best with seven home runs.
Beckham, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 draft, was on a plane and preparing for takeoff (airport unknown) just before 1 p.m. CDT. That means he'll be there in time for Durham's home game tonight against Rochester. The Bulls had an opening after Tampa Bay promoted shortstop Reid Brignac and put outfielder Justin Ruggiano on the disabled list.
