Huntsville first baseman Hunter Morris and Mississippi left-hander Sean Gilmartin were the Southern League's weekly award winners.
Morris hit .517 (15-for-29) with 10 RBIs and seven runs scored for the week that ended Sunday. On Sunday, he tripled, homered twice, had four RBIs and scored three times in a 10-5 home win over Jacksonville. Morris, a former Auburn star, has a .314 average for the season (second in the league), plus 14 homers (fourth) and 67 RBIs (first) in 85 games.
Gilmartin threw nine innings in the Braves' 12-inning home win over Jackson on Friday, giving up one run on four hits. He walked none and struck out seven. Gilmartin is 5-6 with a 3.42 ERA this year.
