Biscuits center fielder Kevin Kiermaier, with a 12-for-29 week that included two home runs, won the Southern League's hitter of the week award.
Kiermaier had at least one hit in every game for the week that ended Sunday, scored five times and also doubled twice and tripled twice.
He's hitting a league-best .323 with 59 runs scored this year.
Jacksonville right-hander Henderson Alvarez won the pitching award. He threw 7 2/3 shutout innings in a start Friday and has 14 1/3 shutout innings in his first two career Southern League starts.
The 23-year-old made 41 starts for the Toronto Blue Jays the last two seasons.
Kiermaier is the third player from the Biscuits to win a weekly award this year, joining reliever C.J. Riefenhauser (April 15-22) and designated hitter Keith Castillo (May 27-June 3). Alvarez is the fourth from the Suns.
