Jake Thompson gave up four hits in six innings and the Biscuits scored their most runs in more than two weeks in an 8-0 win over the Mobile BayBears on Thursday.
Thompson (7-8), who walked three and struck out seven, snapped out of his own slump. He was 0-3 with an 8.02 ERA in his last four starts.
On Thursday, after the BayBears started the third inning with consecutive singles, Thompson retired 10 straight hitters.
The top two hitters in Montgomery's lineup combined to reach base six times and score six runs.
Kyeong Kang, hitting leadoff for the second time this season, tied a season high with three runs scored. He singled twice and hit a solo home run in the third inning.
Mikie Mahtook set a season high with three runs scored. He singled twice and is 6-for-16 with five runs scored in his last four games.
