Koronis down to Crabs; Dyer back from Bulls

The Biscuits have lost their "win a date" bait.

Relief pitcher Alex Koronis (left) has been demoted to high-Class A Charlotte and is being replaced by Shane Dyer, who is being demoted from Triple-A Durham.

Koronis, who has a 4.12 ERA in 24 appearances, has had control troubles. In 39 1/3 innings, he's given up just 29 hits, but he's also issued 30 walks. Koronis has three blown saves.

Dyer started the year with the Biscuits, was a midseason Southern League All-Star and had a 2.03 ERA in eight starts before a mid-May promotion to Durham. He was 1-3 with a 7.34 ERA in nine games for the Bulls. Dyer dropped out of the rotation last week and gave up three runs in one inning Friday in his first relief appearance.

The Biscuits are looking for a player to take Koronis' place for Thursday's competition. "A player to be named later. A date to be named later," GM Marla Terranova Vickers said.
