Braves' Hamren comes to Biscuits in trade

Well, since I just posted that and haven't signed off yet ...

The Biscuits are adding pitcher Erik Hamren from the Mississippi Braves in a trade.

Hamren had a 2.55 ERA and one save in 13 games for Mississippi and is a former major leaguer. He made his major league debut with San Diego on Aug. 1, 2011, and had a 4.38 ERA in 14 appearances for the Padres.

The 26-year-old right-hander threw 2 2/3 shutout innings against his new team Wednesday, giving up two hits with no walks and two strikeouts. On May 8 at Riverwalk, he allowed three runs in one inning.

Mississippi's release didn't say what the Braves received in the trade.
