Samford's Ervin state's top draft prospect

The annual baseball draft starts Thursday with the first two rounds (73 picks). Tampa Bay has three picks Thursday: 21st, 29th and 60th.

It looks like it's not a banner year for the state of Alabama, though Samford outfielder Phillip Ervin is a potential high-round pick.

According to Baseball America, the state has 11 prospects in this year's class who are among the top 500 nationally (learn more about them here) ...
